The Wolayta Organization of Lasting & Quality Alliance (WOLQA) has been formally established. The founding Constitution, Bylaws, and Code of Conduct have been adopted, uniting the Wolaita diaspora across North America, Europe, and beyond under one platform dedicated to solidarity, cultural preservation, and development.
WOLQA's first General Assembly will convene to elect the Board of Directors and Executive Officers, ratify governing documents, and set the community's collective strategic direction. Open to all members in good standing.
WOLQA is organizing the inaugural Wolaita Cultural Festival abroad, celebrating heritage through music, food, language, dance, and traditions. Target attendance: 500+ community members.
The WOLQA Board meets quarterly (in-person or virtually) to review progress, approve decisions, and coordinate with chapter chairs. Meeting summaries are published to members per Bylaws Art. V.
WOLQA's first fundraising campaign is underway, mobilizing medical equipment and supplies for Otona Hospital in Wolaita. All contributions are transparently recorded and publicly reported.
WOLQA's centralized membership registry is open. Membership dues are $2/month ($24/year). Open to all Wolaita-origin individuals and allies who support WOLQA's mission across the globe.
WOLQA chapters are being established in U.S. states and European regions. Target: 10 U.S. chapters and 3 European chapters by 2027. Contact your regional coordinator to get involved.
